For many years in both my professional and fitness career, I have worked with seniors. My first exposure was being a fitness coordinator at Gwen Secter Creative Living Centre where I taught chair exercises to seniors and post stroke individuals. From there, I took my Active Older Adult with MFC, special needs training with Enabling Access, Maureen Rae's Chair Yoga program, was an editor for a seniors newspaper and then program director dealing face to face with seniors, their health issues, educational talks, programs and exercise needs. I have always felt that exercise is such a key issue for seniors and that chair yoga is another great avenue to help with mobility, strength, breath work, relaxation.

I would highly recommend it for anyone at any age and any level.

Chair yoga is a great alternative to traditional yoga classes where the chair can be used for all of the class, part of the class or modified for poses.
In all my years of teaching, I have noticed that this is a great way to still experience yoga and all its benefits including breathwork, flexibility and calming the mind.
This style of yoga is also a good choice if you have injuries,
health conditions or are new to yoga.
